The Great Pause; Volume 1

This is what I want to shout from the rooftops!
Hand drawn watercolor  experiment/Facetime lesson with Ann Corbiere

Literally waving from the rooftop
Thanks whoever you are for the wave during your work day.

You are a remarkable, flexible and resilient example of life.
What I have noticed most during Covid 19 is the innovative and creative example in my family, pals, and co-workers.
 WOW!
You have all figured out how to fully express yourselves and shine God's light on your respective tribes!
Protocols aside, (yep, I am following them all) I continue to face new challenges in less than familiar style.
What I will remember most is the outreach of kindness and gifts that have been shared.
I pray this continues.

Here are some things that have amused and entertained me over the last several weeks.
I am so grateful for our beautiful weather, fresh air, and beautiful mountains.

Ooops...how did she get in the game?

Resurrection Sunday
GOD is using this quarantine for HIS GLORY!

 Gifts of nature

 porch gifts from our grandchildren
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
the prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around
down the street this chariot came with a bound.

Not sure who they are or where they came from but
THIS was the most unexpected sight out my kitchen window.
I do not fashion myself as a front line worker despite the essential nomenclature assigned to my profession.
Truth be told, in a physical crisis I am somewhat helpless where my loved ones are concerned.
If it goes beyond a bandage I usually call in my better half.
 My limitations include crafty talents.
MAKERS GONNA MAKE
Here is what I could contribute.

A few dozen masks for family near and far.
Our daughter has continued to work on the front line helping pet owners.
She has to wear a mask for at least 10 hours a day.
Things we do not consider include dehydration and sore ears!
Thank you Cricut® and the many other companies that continue to provide resources so we can help one another.

I have zoomed birthday parties, continuing education classes, yoga, bible study and soon will Zwift with bike pals.
But I miss the hugs from these people more than I can express.

The official lockdown started March 23 and will likely end May 1st. That is EXACTLY 40 days.
The Latin root of the word "quarantine" is "forty".
So what does the Bible say about 40?

The flood lasted 40 days.
40 years Moses fled Egypt.
40 days Moses stayed on Mount Sinai to receive the Commandments.
Exodus lasted 40 years.
Jesus fasted for 40 days.
40 days for a woman to rest after giving birth.
Optimum number of weeks for human gestation is 40.
A group of theologians thinks the number 40 represents "change”. It is the time of preparing a person, or people, to make a fundamental change.
Something will happen after these 40 days. Just believe and pray. Remember, whenever the number 40 appears in the Bible, there is a "change".
Please know that during this "quarantine" rivers are cleaning up, vegetation is growing, the air is becoming cleaner because of less pollution, there is less theft and murder, healing is happening, and most importantly, people are turning to Christ. The Earth is at rest for the first time in many years and hearts are truly transforming.
Remember we are in the year 2020, and 20 + 20 = 40.
Also, 2020 is the year of the United States Census. Jesus Christ, the savior of the world, was born during a census.
Lastly, 2020 is perfect vision. May our sight focus on the Lord and living according to His perfect vision for us knowing He holds us in the palm of His hand.
May these days of "quarantine" bring spiritual liberation to our souls, our nation, and our world.
