It's a Wrap!

December was special in so many ways.
It is not what we did as much as who we did it with that made for a remarkable month.
Our daughter Morgan coordinated our first holiday open house at Stertz Construction.
It was a smashing success and very festive!
I had a great time documenting the month with a photo and story every day.
Here is a peek at the 6 x 8 book that holds the memories.
Each day tells a story and is inspired by a class led by

Hey Bert!
Hmmm...Could we, should we, would we meet this guy?

But of course so off we went to the
Happiest Place on Earth.
It truly is a Magic Kingdom!
The Disney app rocked!
These fans could not have been more impressed with the Disneyland experience.
We were entertained at every turn.
The adults just might have loved the rides as much as the kiddos.
The spontaneous appearance of parades, personalities and iconic characters are so uplifting.
Thanks to this crew for allowing me to take hundreds of photos.
Taking pictures was a challenge since there were so many people AND the subjects were constantly moving!
Adventure Land includes a real time city from the Pixar movie Cars.
It is sooooo realistic that even our imaginations took us to Radiator Springs.
The kids were ecstatic and were trying to comprehend it all.
We took several RESTS through the day and we may have been the only people there that did not have Mickey apparel of some kind!
The Christmas decor, aromas, and music inspired a relaxing atmosphere in spite of the constant activity and stimulation.
Trees of all types decked the streets.
This is the tallest tree that I have ever seen.
For a little perspective you can see the building behind the tree.

This one was built of giant truck tires.
Garlands galore. Check this out! It was made from wrenches and air filters.
Disneyland thrills even their youngest guests.
The sense of protection that we felt was exceptional given the crowds.
We are not strangers to Southern California where Carlsbad has become a home away from home and  a place of REST. On our last day we visited our favorite pier.

These two had so much fun digging for shells.
Can I just say that the birds in these parts are proof that fresh fish is good to eat!
There were GIANT seagulls, ducks, pelicans, blue herons and american coots.

As a matter of fact the leaves and pine cones were huge.
I think we have lived in the desert for too long.
 Be still my heart!
Meanwhile in Tucson the support team was keeping it all together for us.
The newest member of our family is already in on our fun and games.
Joyeux Noel mes amis!
Happy New Year to all our friends and family!
We are excited to see what God has planned for us in 2017!
ONE LITTLE WORD 2017
