'It Takes a Village'
This phrase is attributed to an old African proverb. Its exact origin seems to be lost in time. In 1994 children's author Jane Cowen-Fletcher released a book, published by Scholastic Press, titled It Takes A Village in which a young African girl searches for her younger brother, only to find the rest of the village has been watching over him as well.Well here is our village!
What a cherished moment to have all these women together to celebrate the life of Jack. Each one is a treasure and will weave their imprint on the fabric of Jack's world. So many gifts are represented in these generous and talented women. Soooo lucky to have THREE great grandmothers!
Here is mom cooing to her great grandson. I love the contrast of life - since I am chronologically in the middle this represents so much to me - so much gone by and so much ahead.

This was my first attempt at making an ALL BOY project
Our lives are forever changed with the passing of Rick's mom this month. The last few months have represented several moves to various levels of care and hopsital stays. Her final wish was to meet Jack and thanks to the technology of Skype she was able to satisfy that desire. This is one of my favorite memories of Nana who loved being thought of as the matriarch of the family.
This 'GHEE'MA & GHEE'PA are loving every minute of being grandparents. Since most of you are figuring out how to pronounce these affectionate names I thought it was time to catch you up on their origin.
